It’s Competition Time!!!

It’s here again, My favorite time of year! Competition Time! All 14 of our teams have been working so hard and it’s almost time for all of their hard work to pay off! Please Read thoroughly through this note and keep it on your fridge so that you can refer back to it!!! Please Remember all Competitions are MANDATORY!!  I usually do not receive times for competitions til 7 days before. So please check every day on our blog ultimatedanceetc.blogspot.com and please become a fan on our ultimate Dance Etc. facebook page so that you are always in the know and don’t miss out on any important information!!!!

There must be absolutely no Absences from here on out! We are in our crucial time of cleaning dances. If dancers miss unexcused they may be spaced out of their dances and there are no refunds!!!

Costumes

Most of the costumes have already been tried on and passed out! There are still a few that are coming and they will be passed out within the next few weeks! We have tried on all outfits to make sure they fit how they are supposed to. If they are not right I have called the parents and we have fixed the problem! If you have not been called then your dancers costumes fit the way they are supposed to! Please keep these costumes in a safe place and don’t allow the dancers to play dress up in them til after spring recital!

I sent out a list of dates for competitions back in September and nothing has changed! Here is the list again just as a reminder!

March 16^th-Salt Lake community College-There is an admission charge at the door for parents/familyL

Shoes, Tights and Dress Rehearsal

Shoes and tights were not included in your costume Fees and must be purchased for competition! Below you will find a list of what each team needs!Gold High tops, Silver High Tops, Tan Gore Shoes, and Tan Tights must be purchased in the office so that everyone has the same color tan! If you don’t know how to do a sock bun please watch it on Youtube!

I need to know who is going to Disneyland, How many tickets you need and payment for the Tickets by January 15th!!

Competition Fees Are wayyyyyyy over due!!! I must have those turned in this week or there will be a late fee!!!

Ultimate Co. ....Angels bring your red costume and Tosh and Kyra find a costume that fits your Character. Tosh and Kennedy please bring your props!

Performance at westlake

Attention Mini co., jr. co., sr. co., and Ultimate co. We have been asked to perform at the Westlake storm night on January 10 at 7:00 Please let me know if you can not absolutely make this performance. Mini, sr., and ultimate will be doing their lyrical dance and Jr. will be doing their jazz routine!

Message from Misty

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving! I am so thankful to have all you as a part of our Ultimate Dance Family and appreciate all of your support!

We will be super busy these next few weeks as our fall session will be coming to an end. Please read through this note thoroughly so that you have all the info that you need! Also, As it is getting colder please make sure your dancers bring home what they bring to the studio (coats, gloves, boots, etc.)

Disneyland/California Adventure performance

Our Competition Teams have auditioned and been accepted to perform at California Adventures on the”Hollywood Backlot stage” On Tuesday April 2^nd. I have a list of people who said they wanted to go, if you are one of those people please put this on your calendar! Hotels and Travel are on your own. Although, I am going to see if I can get some group rates at a couple of the hotels  across from the park! I will send more info later. Because of the new “Cars Land” prices have gone up in general for the parks. Normal prices are $220 for a 3day pass. We will be able to get you a 3day pass for $160, 4day pass for $191, and a 5 day pass for $201. So add up how many tickets you will need so that we can get a count when we get back in January!  This will be during spring break so even if you don’t have a dancer performing and would like to come to Disneyland during spring break let me know and I can get you the group discounted rate!! Please plan on paying for tickets by check or cash! If you would like to use a credit card there is a 5% fee on each order!

 

Winter/Spring Registration

Registration is now OPEN! All non-competition classes must re-register for the Winter/Spring Session. All competition teams don’t need to re-register but must pay for spring tuition and recital fee!  This is a 5 month session, January-May! Register now and pay tuition in full to receive one month free and no registration fee. Offer Ends December 20^th! Recital fee is $10 per dancer and is due at the time of registration. Costume Fees for all non-competition dancers are $40 and Due February 10^th! Classes will begin Monday January 7^th!

Message from Misty

I can’t believe we are already  nearing the end of October! Classes are looking great and I have already seen so much improvement in everyone! Just a heads up… All of the Non-competition classes will begin learning their routine for the dance showcase starting November.  Please don’t miss classes unless your dancer is sick! Halloween Dance Day

Halloween Dance day for Non-competition classes will be Next week with the exception of the Wednesday classes which will be this week October 24^th! Dancers may wear Costumes and bring treats for their classes if they wish. We will be doing some Halloween Dancing! Just a reminder there is No Dance On Halloween Day Wednesday October 31^st!

Fall Dance Showcase

Fall Dance Showcase for non-competition Teams will be December 17-20^th Please check the November Newsletter for  your dancers specific time and date!

We Love Kilee! Eat, pray,run Event

A former Ultimate dancer was involved in a devastating Car accident earlier this Month and flown to the hospital in critical condition. There is an event this Saturday for our dear Kilee Krause at the Lehi willow Park 2900 W 300N there is going to be a 5k, auction, lunch, bake, sale and more. Registration for the run is at 10:45 and the other events start at 11:00. If you have questions please ask me!

All of our competition teams have almost finished learning their first routine! Everyone is looking fabulous!!! I am so excited for this upcoming competition season! Please do not miss any classes for they will miss out on choreography and it is hard to do formations with missing dancers!

Winter/Spring Registration will begin November 26^th! Early bird discount (1 month free) will be good til December 20^th! Classes fill up fast so be sure to register early to get into the class you prefer!

Competitions

Every team will be competing 2 dances at 5 competitions. Company teams may be competing at 6 competitions, If so then add$30 for company team competition fees. I will let you know ASAP!

ALL COMPETITIONS ARE MANDATORY!!!!

Competition Fees are due Dec. 1st $170. If not paid by December 10th there will be a $20 late fee!

Mark your calendars for the following mandatory competitions:

February 23rd- Thanksgiving Point, Lehi-Free Admittance

March 16th-Dance Spectacular, Salt Lake Community College-There is an admission fee at this one for friends and family . This will be our first time attending this competition!

March 23rd-Dixie High School, St. George-Free Admittance …There are 3 dance competitions in St. George this weekend! Make Hotel Reservations immediately because everything will be sold out! I have a few rooms blocked out at the La Quinta 888-788- 2457. It is blocked out under Ultimate Dance, but you will need to call soon before they are sold out. The Competition starts early on the 24th so you would want to spend the night in St. George on the 23rd!

April 27th-Spanish Fork High School, Spanish fork-Free Admittance

May 4th *Nationals*-Lagoon, Farmington-There is an admission fee for this competition



All Solos, duets and Trios will be held the night before the team competitions on Fridays!



Costumes

We are now selecting costumes for this year. We will let you know what color and style of shoes and tights each dancer will need as soon as we have each costume ordered. COSTUME FEES ARE DUE BY NOV. 1ST!! $90 for the year! We cannot order costumes til everyone has paid so please do not be late! There will be a $20 late fee if fees are not paid for by November 10th!



Dance Attire & Attendance

Proper dance attire is essential for each dancers progression. It is hard for the teacher to make correction or to even see if the dancer is practicing proper technique if they are not wearing the proper dance attire.

Leotards, tights and ballet shoes are required for all ballet classes!! Please! Please! Please! make sure that your dancer has her hair pulled back and out of face before she comes to dance.

It is very crucial that dancers are at every single class. It is hard to teach choreography if there are dancers missing. Please be on time so that the dancer does not miss any of the warmup!

Message from Misty

Welcome back to all of our old dancers and welcome to all of our new dancers! I hope everyone had an amazing summer and is ready for a great dance season! We have all of our amazing dance teachers back from last session and they are so excited to teach. We are now on our 9th year and ready to be as better than ever!

Ultimate Dance spent the summer attending different camps and training classes to make sure we are up to date in the dance and competition world. Some of our dancers and instructors even attended a camp in Idaho for Drill Teams and Dance Studios and brought home the most ribbons, and medals out of anyone at the camp! as well as six of our dancers making the top 10 “Most Valuable Dancers” and two of them making the top 3! We hope to make this the best year yet! If anyone has questions or concerns please send me an email at ultimatedanceetc@yahoo.com. I will be sending home a newsletter every month and posting it on our blog ultimatedanceetc@blogspot.com. Please take time to be informed.



Please Be Aware

We are very lucky to almost be full in every class which means there will be a lot of traffic these first few weeks. Please be cautious as you drive into the facility area and parking lot. Please do not park in front of the studio door for it blocks traffic. There is plenty of overflow parking in the parking lot east of our building. Please do not park on the street in front of the Townhomes for that is owned by an HOA and they will tow your car.

There will be dancers running to their cars so please drive slow and watch closely for others.

Please have a game plan with your dancers of whether you are going to come inside and get them or if they need to meet you on the curb. I prefer all dancers under 8yrs old to wait inside of the studio until their parents arrive. I do not want them to go to the park unless the parent lets me know that is ok.



Tuition and Warmups

Please remember tuition is now due for the Fall 2011 Session! We will be ordering Ultimate Dance Warm-ups and bags soon. If your dancer wants one please sign up in the office. I need all orders in and paid by October 5th. Bags are $25 Jackets are $40 and Pants are $40!



Competition Teams

Please remember that proper dance attire is required for each class! Each dancer must wear leotards and tight with ballet shoes for their ballet class. Hair must be pulled back! We will have a parents meeting Wed September 26th @ 7:30 to go over competitions and fees!

We are planning on Performing at Disneyland this year! Dancers must be 7 years old to perform. This will be over spring break, probably around April 3rd or 4th. We have to send in an audition tape soon and have to give a round about # of performer soon. So, if you are planning on going or thinking about going please let Misty or Ty know in the office! We would like to send in the tape by the end of October. We will be able to get heavily discounted tickets for both performers and their families. We only need to know # of performers at this time! Please let us know by October 16th!
