Ok Competition Parents! I need your input. St. George Competition is scheduled for April 1st and 2nd.........which is conference weekend. Do you want to go or would you prefer not to?
Last time this happened, my husband would not go to ST. George with us because he said if he did it would mean him missing the entire weekend of conference. At first I thought he was over acting, but there is no way of going and being able to listen or see any of conference. I was gone all day Saturday and couldn't get radio coverage on Sunday driving home. I know not everyone that goes to the studio cares about LDS conference, but if you're asking my opinion it would be a definite NO.
We appreciate the opportunity to have Abbie dance in these competitions, but we feel that, as a family, we are better served staying home that weekend and listening to General Conference. We've had some very special experiences in the past with conference, and we miss it badly when we miss it for whatever reason. The hustle and bustle of travel and being away from home is a big distraction. We would rather not go to St. George that weekend.
We would prefer not to miss Conference. If is is possible to catch Conference in between the competition (since we're only involved with 1 team)then we're okay. But, if we would miss all of Conference we'd prefer not to go. Thanks so much for opening this to discussion. I appreciate that you are sensitive to this issue.
